About Philip Gianni
Philip Gianni is an american born artist who grew up in Latham, NY. Philip started private art lessons at age 12 and later studied oil painting under Russell McMahn until he completed the 10th grade. Philip went on to win two consecutive summer time scholarships at the Malden Bridge School of Art where he studied under the famous portrait painter Betty Warren.
While attending Siena College, Philip studied as a matriculating student at SUNY at Albany NY under Dennis Bing and Robert Stankiewicz from 1976 - 1980. From 1980 to 1988 Philip served as a Captain, Maintenance Test Pilot in the United States Army. Philip started landscape painting and illustrating combat unit stationery while stationed in Germany.
After the Army, Philip attended and graduated from the Ringling School of Art and Design in 1994 with a B.A. in Illustration.
For the next seven years Philip worked as professional contract artist. Philip worked four years as a background artist/ animator for a children's CD ROM company called Mind Magic Productions. For the next three years Philip worked as a contract sculptor for Universal Studios Orlando, Six Flags over Georgia and Nickelodeon Orlando.
Since then Philip has focused on landscape paintings.
